When the dead start walking and the full moon shines

I hate to do this to y’all but, remember when I had that big email crash a couple of months ago? Yeah, that one. All of you title folks who sent me your information, I lost it. So not to worry, it’s not out on the internet in some weird place, it’s no where. At all. And now finally, I’m getting closer to roll out and I’ve got OTG’s contact info and a couple of other folks, but I really need everyone to resend their stuff. I’m sorry. Entourage sucks. Bill Gates sucks and sometimes I suck. Send it to winedog@astound.net. Speaking of Bill Gates, I’m in the process of…

    Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont

I was going to pick on The Dark Overlord Dick Cheney today. OK, I will a little bit. I really don’t understand why this guy’s on a media tour. I’ve seen enough clips of him to be wondering at what point the Spanish government, who has jurisdiction by the way, says “pick him up”. Back when they were in power the party line was “we don’t torture”, Dick’s party line seems to be “yeah, we tortured the little bastards and I’d do it again”. Uh, Dick, you might want to rethink that in light of the international court that has jurisdiction over the issue of torture. Just sayin’. I think…

I look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through

Today’s a little bit of a mixed bag. First off, the ride didn’t go as planned. At all. The best part was I didn’t have to ride over Mt. Diablo by myself. I started talking to a woman on a bike in downtown Walnut Creek, then we started riding together. It was early so we rode doubled up and chatted. Her husband had bailed on her because he was sore from yesterday’s yard work. She was a strong rider and had a really fast cadence which is what I’ve been working on obtaining. So I matched her. Then she asked where I was going. That’s where she was supposed to…

That’s the way she was born and raised she ain’t afraid to stay,

[youtube 9iJLpe1tZl8] I loved the Ford Administration. A drunk wife, a bumbling President prone to pratfalls. Life was good. My favorite was the WIN buttons. (Whip Inflation Now) I did a lot of writing in high school. (Imagine that?) I wanted to be a writer. One of my most memorable pieces (to me at least) from that period was the WIN button campaign. WIN buttons themselves were actually anti-inflationary as they were just recycled “Who’s Ida Norberg” buttons a failed campaign to launch a southern belle to stardom. I had to go through a lot of old shit to find that and I must admit, while I didn’t read it…

Where the Cuervo goes down nice and slow

Monday’s are 14 hour days for me.  Yesterday was even longer.  Our asset managers require us to look at every single house each week.  Currently I have 27, in Pittsburg, Brentwood, Antioch, Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, Fremont, Union City, Hayward, San Lorenzo, San Leandro, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill and Concord.  We have to photograph every one of them and go inside and check on them.  We can’t use our pass keys because we have to check the keys that are in the lock box to be sure they haven’t been stolen or replaced with some other key.  And we go inside so we can see what little maggot broke in and…

  • Rant

    Of narrow minds who legislate

I have always gotten my news a little differently.  I tend to wait until the soap salesman on at 6 & 11pm are done and read about it.  Or these days I’ll research a story on the internet.  I rarely take a story at face value.  I used to read a lot of the articles in Rolling Stone.  In January of 1979 I was staying at a pension in Nice, France with some friends of mine.  Before we left Munich, I picked up a Rolling Stone.  In it was an article about a monster who was arrested the year before.  The article was terrifying and I could not sleep that…

The fog was lifting a voice come chanting

[youtube 3YlLtmMV8zs] I am not going to answer any questions as to my association, my philosophical or religious beliefs or my political beliefs, or how I voted in any election, or any of these private affairs. In a world of mediocrity, we have Pete Seeger. Here’s a guy who first came into the public view in the early 50’s as a member of the Weavers. Pete leans to the left, so much that for a while he was a member of the Communist Party. He found himself under the white hot light of the McCarthy. He was subpoenaed to testify to the House Un-American Activities Committee. He was convicted of…

Now it’s up to you, can we make a secret rendezvous?

I mentioned that today we were going to try something viral. Not that kind of viral.  On the other hand, maybe I didn’t tell y’all that much.  Really, it’s an adventure in social media.  This site gets between 300-600 hits a day, up to 2000 when there’s breaking title news, or Fridays when you guys don’t want to work, God bless every one of you for stopping by.  I have over 400 followers on Twitter.  I have over 100 friends on Facebook and two other sites that get a decent number of hits.  I know there’s some redundancy in those hits, it can’t all be my Mom, but at the…
