And the Irish!

Drunk the night before;
Gonna get drunk tonight
Like I never got drunk before;
For when I’m drunk, I’m as happy as can be
For I am member of the Souse family.
Now the Souse family is the best family
That ever came over from old Germany.
There’s the Highland Dutch, and the Lowland Dutch, The Rotterdam Dutch, and the Irish.
Sing glorious, victorious,
One keg of beer for the four of us.
Sing glory be to God that there are no more of us,
For one of us could drink it all alone.
Damn near.Here’s to the Irish, dead drunk. The lucky stiffs….

But I’m not Irish, and I don’t really get the big deal with St. Patrick’s Day. He drove the snakes out of Ireland, but Ireland didn’t have any snakes to begin with. In reality, I think it’s just that it falls in the middle of Lent and gives everybody a time out from Lent. But I’m not Irish, but that is the Cal Drinking Song. We sang it ad nausem when I played rugby for the All Blues. There are other version, but none sung with the conviction of the All Blues Rugby Football Club. It then broke into a rap version of Exodus, mostly because none of us could sing. But for the Irish, allow me to provide a real Irish song.
